About Plain Sailing

Plain Sailing is a Yacht Charter and Training Centre. George Turpin, the Principle has been running the company for 14 years.

Plain Sailing run a wide range of RYA courses, including all levels of Sailing, Motoring and Powerboating. We also run all the RYA one day courses.
Plain Sailing offer courses on Own Boat tuition or on board one of there fully coded boats.

Plain Sailing have a wide range of yachts on their fleet, ranging from a 30ft, 4 berth yacht to a 43ft, 10 berth yacht, available for training, skippered and bareboat charter.
On the fleet is a range of motorboats and a 4-seater "Rib Craft" available for skippered days out and training.

Plain Sailing have a small dedicated, friendly team that consists of Stuart, Claire and George

We have a wide range of friendly professional Instructors, that are available to provide you with tuition of the highest standard, through out the year. Our aim is to assist you to become safer at sea and take full advantage of the pleasures and challenges Power, Motor and Sail crusing have to offer.

The Plain Sailing Training Centre has a dedicated classroom and office overlooking Brixham marina and is conveniently situated in the sheltered waters of Torbay, the gateway to the South West. The Devon and Cornwall coastline offers coastal sailing at its very best, new harbours with interesting entrances, anchorages and isolated bays.

Our training area includes Torbay / Dartmouth / Teignmouth / Exmouth / Salcombe and Plymouth. We can also cross the channel to France and the Channel Islands.
We have a Oceanis 381 based in the Portuguese Algrave available for all training and Cruising.
