Aim: To provide a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in Powerboats.
Syllabus: Launch & recovery, Preparation of boat and crew, boat handling, picking up and securing to a mooring buoy, leaving and coming alongside, being towed & some theory.

Intermediate Powerboat Day Cruising - 2 Days
Aim: To teach power boating up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day. Assumed knowledge: Be competent to the Level 2 standard with coastal endorsement.
Syllabus: Planning a day cruise, boat preparation, boat handling, pilotage, passage planning, man overboard.

Advanced Powerboat Day & Night - 2 Days
Aim: To teach boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation up to the standards required to drive a planning powerboat safely by day & night in tidal coastal waters with which the candidate may be familiar.
Assumed knowledge: Should be competent to the standard of the Intermediate Powerboat with a thorough knowledge of navigation & chart work to the level of the Day Skipper shore based.
Syllabus: Preparation for sea, boat handling, passage making & responsibility as skipper, pilotage, meteorology, rules of the road, use of engines, emergency situations & night cruising.
