RYA powerboat training

The RYA National Power Boat Scheme provides recognised levels of training for the complete beginner, wishing to take full advantage of their rib or sports boat in a safe leisurely environment, up to advanced and specialist driving skills with commercial endorsement.

School courses are based on a 3:1 ratio on board a 4-seater "Rib Craft". The boat is fully equipped and all the safety equpiment is on board. Accommodation and meals are not included, however there are many guesthouses, hotels and cafes within easy access.

RYA Level 1 - 1 Day

Aim: To provide a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in Powerboats.
Syllabus: Launch & recovery, Preparation of boat and crew, boat handling, picking up and securing to a mooring buoy, leaving and coming alongside, being towed & some theory.

Aim: to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats.
Syllabus: Launch & recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard, some theory.
